Tonight on the show we were joined by Stine Helkjær Engen and Silvia Ceriani.
Stine is a bandoneonista from Denmark who has been living and playing in Buenos Aires for over 10 years.
She shared her wonderful music and played a very inspiring live piece for us as well.
She is involved in numerous creative projects and it was a pleasure to sit and chat and get to know her.
Silvia Ceriani also called in from Buenos Aires. Dancer, teacher, DJ, and historian she shared a lot of knowledge about a period of time she refers to as, "when tango went into a cave."
We listened to music from lesser known but amazing orchestra's from the 50's and 60's and learned about them and the time period when they were playing. She also told us about what was happening in the dance community as well as in the music community during that time.
It was a very fun and interesting show!!
Thank you all for listening, calling and being a part of this while we are all apart. We will continue to bring you great shows to keep us connected socially as we learn and talk about Tango as it has so many layers.

We learned about their early days working together, growing as a couple, and some other funny stories.
Juan Villareal serenaded us with his beautiful singing, (toward the end of the show)
as his co producers and creators, Meredith Klein and Yael Smzulewicz told us about the project they are all making together, Tango en la Terraza.
It is a ONE YEAR long, monthly concert series, that takes place on the terrace of Yael's home in Buenos Aires.
She is the videographer and Juan is the sound engineer / musician.
Meredith helped coordinate all the efforts and together this concert series is helping promote amazing music and dancing as well as helping bring work to the artists involved.

Tonight on the show Travis Widrick joined us. We caught up and chatted about his summer rebuilding his family farm, learning to be resourceful, and, of course, his tango journey. We also discussed the bridges that tango creates for us into other communities we may otherwise not be able to access.
It was a very fun and interesting conversation as usual.
Maria Elena Ybarra joined us as well and we discussed the roles in tango, the biases in tango, and how we can help overcome these prejudices by first acknowledging that they exist.
We covered so many interesting topics and I learned a lot about how we can help to foster a more welcoming community.
